Office:
Mrs Jo Horgan

It has been my privilege to have worked at Welcome Bay School for the last 24 years in the role of Office Manager. It is interesting to see students arrive as apprehensive 5 year olds and leaving as confident young people at the end of their primary schooling.  I thoroughly enjoy my position; the contact with parents, and students alike and working with the committed and friendly staff.

Please feel free to ring should you have any queries.

Hi.  We are a team of 3 very much dedicated, passionsate and caring teacher aides on staff here at Welcome Bay School.  We have all been at the school for upwards of 12 years – so this shows our dedication and loyalty to our positions.  Over the years we have worked with many students needing specialised support for a host of learning needs, these include syndromes, conditions, disorders and challenging behaviours; all  along the way, learning from these experiences. We have also been involved in delivering a number of successful teaching and learning programmes such as Listen and Learn, Rainbow Reading, Toe by Toe, Social Skills and Correspondence. Collectively we bring a wealth of skills and knowledge to the school, having attained higher learning in the areas of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Braille (Trans-Tasman Cert.), Support Education (WINTEC Cert.) and the many courses attended for the many challenging conditions and disorders facing some of our students of today.  We are passionate about the work that we do and strive to help the students that we work with to be the very best they can be.

Librarian
Mrs Christine Jones

Hi, my name is Christine Jones and I have been our school librarian since 2008.

Our library is well equipped and organised to help support the teaching staff to enhance the students learning and to nurture the love of books.

I work hard to maintain an ongoing connection between children and books, helping to produce life-long readers.

Caretaker:

Allan Baldock

I am the caretaker at Welcome Bay School.   I have been on staff since 2005.  My role is to take care of the school grounds and I also clean some of the classes at the end of the day.

I love fishing and having a singalong with my guitar.

Cheryl Penjueli

I am the cleaner at school.  I have been on staff for a long time now!  I clean the classes at the end of each day.  I enjoy making cards for people and being a member of the Welcome Bay Community Church.
